| DEO, Kupwara conducts workshop on EEM | | Kupwara, October 28, (Scoop News)-District Election Officer, Kupwara, Itrat Hussain Rafique today presided over a meeting of RO’s, ARO’s and representatives of various political parties convened to review the poll preparedness in the district.
The District Election Officer impressed upon the concerned to adhere the Model Code of Conduct to ensure free, fair and transparent elections. He said that the notification will be issued on November 07, 2014 and nominations would be received the same day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m during office hours. The candidates would withdraw their nominations on November 17, 2014 while date of polling is December 02, 2014.
The Senior Superintendents of Police, Kupwara, Handwara, Additional Deputy Commissioners, RO’s, ARO’s, SDM’s and Nodal Officers were also present in the meeting.
On this occasion, the PowerPoint presentation was displayed on monitoring of election expenditure, Model Code of Conduct and election process preparedness.
It was impressed upon the representatives of the all political parties to inform one day earlier to Police Control Room about the road shows, rallies, public address so that security would be provided for the purpose.
Meanwhile, the political parties/contesting candidates have been asked to open their separate accounts for the polling expenditure.
