| SHD holds awareness, demonstration camps | | Jammu, October 29, (Scoop News)- Sheep Husbandry Department (SHD)Udhampur under the guidance of District Sheep Husbandry Officer Udhampur, Dr. Satish Gangwal organized awareness and demonstration camps under Special Central Assistance to Tribal Sub Plan (SCA to TSP) and under Agricultural Technology Management Agency(ATMA) .
Awareness camps cum training programmes were held in various villages including Kosar and Bali in Block Chenani, Battal in Block Udhampur, Ladana in Block Ramnagar and Thlora in Block Majalta while two demonstrations camps were organized at village Herteryan and Kosan in Gordhi block of the district.
During the camps, District Sheep Husbandry Office Udhampur and Veterinary Assistant Surgeons Ramnagar, Chenani, Udhampur and Dudu Basantgarh delivered lectures on management of various diseases and their control by way of vaccination or deworming. The breeders were also advised to come forward to avail maximum benefits out of the various state and centrally sponsored schemes specially meant for them.
Representatives of Animal Husbandry, Agricultural, Horticultural, Sericulture Department also spoke on the occasion about the various activities and schemes of their departments.
Besides, in the demonstration Programmes farmers were given demonstration about the importance of the deworming on spot by drenching their livestock.
Sarpanches and Panches of respective areas also participated in the programmes and grievances of the farmers were also redressed on the spot.
