Slash transport fares across J-K: SRS to Govt
Jammu, October 30, (Scoop News)- State President, Shri Ram Sena, Rajiv Mahajan asked State as well as Central Governments to decrease the fares of transport across the Jammu and Kashmir State after an unprecedented fall in the price of diesel by more than Rs. 6 per litre till date by Modi-led Central Government.
Decrease in diesel prices is a relief to all but as of now, there is no proposal to review the transport fares for the common man, Rajiv said adding that such proposals take time and the decision cannot be taken immediately by the government.
As the transporters demanded for increasing fare with rise in the price of diesel by lodging protests, Rajiv said that why the State Government will not take a decision in reduce of fare after slashing of diesel price.
“When the National Conference-Congress Coalition Government took a decision about the increase in transport fares at the time hike in petro products immediately,” he said adding that this undue delay in slashing the fares is uncalled for.
Rajiv said slashing of diesel price will not be benefitted the common man till the price of transport fare be reduced.
He asked State Government to announce a decrease in transport fares with urgent effect.
