Bilal vows to develop Harwan area as tourist hub

Srinagar, November 27, (Scoop News)- Independent candidate and strong contender for high profile Sonwar Assembly seat, Peer Bilal Ahmed has reiterated his commitment to work for developing the neglected picturesque spots of the constituency, particularly Harwan as tourist hub.
Conducting door to door campaign in the localities situated far beyond the eastern shore of Dal Lake, including Shalimar, Harwan and Ishbar, Bilal interacted with cross section of society and informed them about his vision for development and realization of huge tourism potential of the area. He said that picturesque spots in Harwan suburbs like Dachigam, Ishbar, Sarband , Harisandraj and sprawling meadows along Dachigam have faced complete neglect despite having huge tourism potential.
He said that he has conceived a comprehensive action plan for the development of these scenic spots into a major attraction for high end tourists who are visiting Dal Lake.
“There is a need to attract and divert the tourists to these unexplored locations so that people, particularly youth of these areas could also reap the benefits of lucrative tourist industry” Bilal said. He said that another area which would receive special focus will be up gradation of health and education services in Harwan area adding that up-gradation of local high school, opening of Polytechnic College, Degree College and ITI , besides up-grading of the local hospital by making available modern line facilities would be his one of the priority.
He added that his ultimate aim to join the fray from the constituency was to work for the socio-economic development of these areas which have faced neglect despite being hardly a dozen kilometer away from the state’s summer capital.
He said that he has since long been striving for the development of the area and continue to do that whether he gets the public mandate or not. He called upon the people to choose a representative on the basis of merits and not being swayed by any party tag. He said that people are best judges and they now how the subsequent governments and representatives have shown total apathy towards the problems of the people of this constituency.
