| Armed Forces Flag Day to be celebrated on Dec 6 | |  Jammu, November 27, (Scoop News)- A meeting of the State Level Armed Flag Day Committee (SLAFDC) was held under the chairmanship of IG Commissioner Civil Military Laison (Home Department), Yoginder Koul, here today.
Threadbare discussion was held on fixing of targets, collection by Head of the Departments and other related issues.
Koul briefed the meeting that this year the Armed Forces Flag Day will be celebrated on 6th December 2014 all over the country instead of 7th December being a Sunday. He also informed that Defence Minister has approved the ceremonial pining of Token Flags in all States on 6th December accordingly.
Earlier, Director, Sainik Welfare Department Brigadier, R.S. Langeh briefed the committee about the receipt of Armed Forces Flag Day Fund. He informed that the total collection during the year 2014-15 was Rs 15,55,788 Lakh.
Among others, Divisional Commissioner Jammu Shantmanu, Secretary, School Education, Mrs. Nirmal Sharma, DIG, Police Administration, Police Head Quarters Jammu, Ali Mohd, Director General Accounts & Treasuries, Altaf Hussain, Additional Secretary, GAD, Rajesh Sharma, Additional Secretary I&C Ashok Kumar Sharma Joint Director Information Hqrts, A.H.Zargar and JD (Res) Finance Department, Showkat Hussain were present in the meeting.
