India Pakistan should re-start Dialogue Process without any delay :NC
J&K cannot suffer eternally because of hostility, status-quo :Uri
Srinagar, November 27, (Scoop News)-Urging the Prime Ministers of India and Pakistan to renew and restart the comprehensive dialogue process between New Delhi and Islamabad and discuss all outstanding issues of contention including the Kashmir Issue, National Conference Thursday said the time was ripe for the neighbors to end the hostility in the region.

Senior National Conference Leader Mohammad Shafi Uri said that it was unfortunate that the Prime Ministers of India and Pakistan couldn’t engage in a formal meeting on the sidelines of the SAARC summit as people across the region have a strong yearning for peace and progress.

“The hostility between India and Pakistan should be removed and both countries should sit across the dialogue table and resolve their differences,” the NC Leader said.

“Kashmiris are the worst sufferers of the hostility between India Pakistan that is continuing since many decades now and the leadership of both the countries should show empathy towards Kashmiris and realize that we are suffering due to a constant sense of apprehension and uncertainty between the two neighbors. Both the countries need to understand that we are the worst sufferers of the conflict between India and Pakistan and any attempt made by New Delhi and Islamabad to end hostility will be warmly welcomed and encouraged by National Conference which has been striving for the resolution of all long pending issues,” the statement added.

Mohammad Shafi Uri said the people of Jammu and Kashmir have to bear the brunt of acts of aggression between Delhi and Islamabad and it’s the need of hour that the two countries should display political wisdom and farsightedness by making efforts to resolve the Kashmir Issue. “The leaders of SAARC nations including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Pakistani counterpart Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif are in Kathmandu for the regional summit and this was a golden opportunity to thaw the ice between the two countries”, the NC Leader said.

Condemning the militant attack on any army base in Arnia town in Jammu Province, NC said such things will only end when the larger political issues are settled for once, a feat that would facilitate a sustained era of peace and cooperation in the region. “New Delhi and Islamabad should resume the stalled dialogue process for avoiding any further harm to the lives and properties of our civilians along the border regions. Unarmed civilians have borne the brunt of the hostilities between India and Pakistan, which should stop without any further delay," Uri added.
