PDP, NC and Congress against empowerments of Panchayats: BJP

Jammu, December 18, (Scoop News)- BJP state spokesperson Dr. Suresh Ajay Magotra in a statement said that successive Govt. in j&k from last 12 years befooled the public and the panchayat representatives in the name of empowering panchayat unit in the state. Magotra said these parties have never cared to strengthen democratic setup in the state. Panchayat is basic building block of the democratic edifice and not empowering them impinged on the evolution of democracy.
Magotra further said that panches and sarpanches across the state have been agitating uninterruptedly for the last 16 years. Two sarpanches got bullets for being protagonists of ballot during current election which happened due to security failure on the part of NC and Congress. Magotra said that Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi, three years back while touring in J&K assured to extend 73rd and 74th Constitutional amendments to make Panchayats effective and empowered but forgot it after returning to Delhi. The security and safety of the panches had been never a concern for successive state governments which only goes to show their total lack of interest in the institution of Panchayat Raj.
Magotra said that real empowerment of democracy lies at grass root level which was always deliberately neglected by NC, PDP and Congress. So far, about 12 sarpanches and panches had lost their lives. Government was only worried about the security of their self and of their kiths and kin. Jammu and Kashmir is moving towards new dawn of progress under the change going all around the nation. Prime Minster Narendra Modi emerged as strong Prime Ministers who is very much concerned about the security of the citizens of the nation.
Magotra appealed to the saviors of democracy (Panches and Sarpanches) to throw out NC, PDP and Congress from the political map of the state and strengthen BJP for new secured, peaceful and developed J&K. He appealed to the citizens to cast their vote in favour of BJP on 20th of December across the region and enable it to form first government with its own majority in the state.
