| Siachen Brigade conducts health camp in Nubra valley | |  Leh, December 20, (Scoop News)-Under Sadbhavana initiative, the Siachen Brigade carried out a medical camp today, which was conducted to provide necessary medical assistance to the locals of village Warish. The camp was conducted to ameliorate the hardships and medical problems being faced by the population due to harsh terrain and weather. The camp also gave an opportunity to Indian Army and locals to interact with each other. Basic comfort for the locals was taken care of with arrangement of proper seating and also by catering for tea, snacks and refreshment.
During the camp locals from Warish, Fasten and Sunudho villages visited with the children and the aged persons. Also, animals were brought to the camp for veterinary assistance. Free medicines were distributed and medical advice was also rendered to the locals. The Dental officer carried out Oral Hygiene Campaign for the children.
Through the camp around 160 locals were provided medical assistance and also necessary veterinary aid was provided to 120 animals which included cows, ponies and goats and yaks.
The efforts made for the successful conduct of the camp were lauded and appreciated by the Sarpanch, Nambardar and other members of Panchayat. The Locals were thankful to Indian Army for providing the much required assistance in form of medical and veterinary aid. The village expressed their desire for regular conduct of such camps.
