Orientation programme for primary teachers concluded

Leh, January 25, (Scoop News)- The 1st phase of twenty days orientation programme concluded today at District Institute for Education & Training (DIET) Leh for primary teachers that had started from 6th of January and Executive Councilor Agriculture Sonam Dorjey was the Chief Guest on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion Dorjey congratulated the teachers for completing their training successfully and said that such trainings are important to meet the new and challenging methods of teaching and also talked about the importance of imparting quality education.

He hoped that by taking maximum advantage from these twenty days training; the teachers will make optimum use of the methods and knowledge in educating their students and will complete their responsibility of imparting quality education.

Praising the noble profession of teaching, he expressed happiness on attendance of majority of female teachers in the training who generally exhibit more efficient ways of teaching.

Taking every possible measure on strengthening the education system in Ladakh by the CEC LAHDC Leh Rigzin Spalbar, EC termed the teachers as an important tool towards making the Vision Document 2025 a success.

Appreciating the trainings and workshops given to teachers from time to time at DIET Leh, EC referring to the problems and issues of DIET Leh assured full support to redress them.

Earlier, Principal DIET Leh Konchok Angmo said that the main objective this year is to strengthen the primary section. Last year their focus was on pre-primary for which about 600 teachers were given trainings. Detailing about the trainings and workshops conducted at DIET Leh, Angmo requested for Resource Persons of its own in order to strengthen the institution. She also informed that the second phase of this training will commence from 27th of January, 2015.

Chief Education Officer Leh Tsewang Phuntsog, expressed gratitude to the DIET Leh for conducting such effective trainings to their teachers and hoped that the ‘Mathematic kits’, sponsored by SAMPARK Foundation distributed to all the schools will be used efficiently to educate the students.
State Disaster Response Force Leh also conducted a disaster awareness programme to these teachers.
Resource persons and representative of teachers also spoke on the occasion and shared their views and suggestions.
