Awareness camp organized by KVIB
Ganderbal, January 29, (Scoop News)-The Khadi & Village Industries Board (KVIB) district office Ganderbal organized an awareness camp at Panchayat Ghar Serch Payeen with a view to generate awareness among the rural artisans and unemployed youth about the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme.
Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Srinagar, representative of J&K Bank, Manager DIC, representative of KVIC and Sarpanch/Panchs of Halqa Serch besides large number of artisans, unemployed educated youth and local people were present in the camp.
The District Officer KVIB Ganderbal highlighted the performance and achievements of KVIB in the district during the year 2013-14 and informed that banks have disbursed loan of Rs. 168.378 lakhs to 51 units and KVIB has provided Rs. 62.034 lakhs as subsidy generating employment opportunities for 360 persons.
During the current financial year 2014-15, 35 cases with a project cost of Rs. 178.14 lakhs have been sponsored to various bank branches for sanction upto January 17, 2015. KVIB has released the margin money (subsidy) to the tune of Rs. 15 lakhs among the 14 unit holders there by generating employment opportunities for 100 persons.
The Deputy Chief Executive Officer KVIB and District Officer KVIB Ganderbal have also urged the unemployed youth as well as rural artisans to avail benefits under KVIB schemes for self employment ventures.
