Tarigami for prompt restoration of essential services

Jammu, March 04, (Scoop News)-CPI (M) State Secretary and legislator M.Y. Tarigami has urged the government to ensure prompt restoration of essential services which have been badly affected following recent snowfall in the valley. He said despite passing of several days the situation continues to be grim in many rural areas.
“The on- going board and university examinations demand marked improvement in the power scenario”, he said adding the electricity has to be restored on war footing basis to save the future of student community. With the rise in water discharge of rivers the government must revise the power curtailment schedule, he maintained.
He called upon the government to address the ration shortage issue saying that the closure of national highway should not be allowed to precipitate the food crisis in the valley. He called for intensifying market checking to keep hoarders and black marketers at bay.
The legislator has highlighted the issue of property damages that have reportedly occurred due to the snowfall and sought intensive survey to extend relief to the affected owners
