Creation of New Tribal Ministry -an outcome of Gujjar’s struggle
Jammu, March 04, (Scoop News)-Saying that the creation new Tribal Affairs Ministry in Jammu and Kashmir state is an outcome of years long continues struggle of Gujjars –Bakrwals –the participants of a programme, organized by Tribal Research and Cultural Foundation , here this afternoon to discuss community issues, termed it as great success of Schedule tribes and hailed this initiative of new governments and thanked for fulfilling their long pending demand.

The programme was presided over by Ch Ghulam Sarwar Chouhan –President J&K Gujjar Mandal, while Ch S D Bajad, President , Adbi Sangat Kashmir and Dr. Javaid Rahi Secretary Tribal Foundation were in the presidium.

Dr. Javaid Rahi while addressing the participants of the programme stated that creation of separate Tribal Ministry in the J&K was a result of a long -struggle of Tribal communities especially the Gujjars-Bakrwals of Jammu and Kashmir who constitute 80% of total tribal population of the state demanding it since log as they are facing tremendous hardships.

He said this is a historic initiative and will write new chapters of Tribal Development in J&K which will go a long way educational, social and cultural development of STs especially Gujjars. He hoped that new Minister Ch Zulfkar Ali will give new vision to Tribal development.

Ch Ghulam Sarwar Chouhan said that with the creation of separate Ministry for Tribal Affairs the ST population will come into the focus with regard to development and new schemes can be keeping in view the migratory way of life of nomadic tribes.

He said that it will also help in utilization of funds will in time with proper utilization of central funds meant for their welfare of the tribal communities without any diversion to other sectors.
Ch Salam Din Bajad stated that all 12 the Tribes especially the Gujjars and Bakarwals who are lagging behind in each and every field of life since 1947 pining hope that new initiative government will open new developmental paths for boost for socio-economic condition of tribes.
