Rigzin Spalbar reviews the future course of development works
Leh, March 04, (Scoop News)-Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC Leh Rigzin Spalbar today chaired an important meeting with District Superintendent Engineer PWD and the Executive Engineers of all the wings of PWD at Council Secretariat, and took review of the progress as well as the future course of development works for coming working season. The CEC in view of the fast approaching summer took this meeting for early completion of the developmental works in and around Leh town under schemes like Urban Infrastructure Development Scheme for Small and Medium Town (UIDSSMT), Integrated Housing and Slum Development Programme (IHSDP) and Rajiv Awaz Yojna (RAY).
The Deputy Commissioner Leh Saugat Biswas present in the meeting also put forth some concrete inputs in this context.
CEC addressing the meeting said that though the work on these schemes had already started last year but due to engagement in developing infrastructures and other preparations for Kalachakra-2014, these works progressed but on a slow pace.
DSE PWD gave a detailed power-point presentation where CEC had a detailed discussion with the each of the respective Executive Engineers about the work completed on ground and further plans to resume work for early completion to which it was assured by them that the work on all the important fronts is all set to resume in few days time.
For proper and early completion of works, CEC urged the concerned officers and officials to carry out the work in close co-ordination among themselves and to try complete the major works specially around Leh market by June/July in order to not to create inconvenience to the visiting tourists in particular and the locals in general.
CEC also instructed DSE to keep close monitor on all the works himself and submit weekly feedbacks to ensure quality as well as good pace on progress and in this context CEC desired to take monthly review meetings himself. In the meantime CEC also urged the media persons to convey correct information to the public and help defy all the misconceptions and rumours raised especially on social media platform with relate to these projects.
Also, HODs of other concerned department and representatives of BSNL were also present in the meeting.
