| CEC and team of engineers inspects the ongoing work at Leh bazaar | |  Leh,,March 25 (Scoop News)- To speed up the ongoing construction under UIDSSMT & JNURM project at Leh market, Housing colony, Murtsey colony, Ibex colony and Skampari areas right from the beginning of the working season at a rapid pace and to assess the present progress of works, Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Leh Rigzin Spalbar and EC Tourism Lassu Shafi today inspected these areas along with a team of engineers and other concerned officers.
While inspecting the construction sites of Leh market, CEC said that ongoing construction of private buildings in Leh market should not become a hurdle for the works of this prestigious project of Leh beautification plan and directed executing agencies to accomplish maximum works in the month of April as it will become more difficult in speedy execution of work in main market when tourist season begins. To maintain the quality and timely completion of the works, CEC directed executive agencies to give incentives to the contractors as well as penalty for delay in the works. Regarding obstruction in executing work due to land disputes, Spalbar directed Tehsider Leh to be ready with all necessary revenue papers under Land Acquisition Act. He also directed Exn PHE to execute the underground works at Kharyok under RAY project within a week and said that all works should be in full swing saying that he will inspect the progress of all the works in the second week of April 2015.
Earlier, inspecting the ongoing excavation works for laying of water supply and sewerage pipes at Housing colony, CEC was told by the Exn. PHE Tashi that water supply and sewerage system works at Housing colony is almost complete and these days they are giving household water connection. CEC Rigzin Spalbar on spot directed Exn. Construction Angchuk to flout tender for construction of roads in Housing colony and start the work at the earliest and directed Exn. PHE to complete the household water connection in housing colony within a week time putting extra material and manpower and asked Nambarder Housing colony to coordinate executing engineers. In view of possible encroachment of land between the main four line road and Housing colony, CEC directed Administrator, Municipality Dr. Zahida Bano to prepare a project for plantation with forest dept along the road side.
CEC also visited the ongoing construction work of NAC Park opposite Balkang and directed Administrator, Municipality Dr. Zahida Bano to complete the work by the ending of April.
CEC also inspected the public convenience (Toilets) facilities at Leh market and new bus stand and directed NAC to do all new construction and repair works at the earliest
CEC also inspected the ongoing road construction work from Old SSP Residential Quarter to New bus stand which will be a convenient alternative road to enter main bazaar vice versa New Bus stand thus reducing the traffic pressure main Leh entry gate after its completion.
