Deldan Namgyal raises several questions in the assembly
Leh,March 27 (Scoop News)- MLA Nubra Deldan Namgyal raised questions in the budget session of the J&K Assembly pertaining to the steps being taken for the construction work of Rongdo Hydel Project at Nubra and inner line permit for the foreign tourists from Panamik to Yarma Gonbo monastery and Warshi village and also to Tyakshi and Thang village.

Minister of Power J&K replying to the raised question said that two projects - one of 3MW and another of 9MW capacity are proposed on Rongdo Nallah. The 9MW project is being developed by J&K State Power Development Corporation (JKSPDC) while the 3MW project is under Ladakh Renewable Energy Development Agency (LREDA). The J&K State Power Development Corporation tendered out the 9MW project for development in the independent power producer mode in 2014 but there was no response. The project is now proposed for re-advertising.
For the 3MW project under LREDA process for transfer of land and Indus water treaty clearance have been initiated. The construction of DPR is already completed. The tender for its execution will be done shortly.

Replying to the questions raised by MLA Nubra, Minister of Tourism J&K said that the matter regarding further extending of inner line permit for foreign tourists from Panamik to Yarma Gonbo monastery and Warshi village has also been taken by the state government with the Ministry of Home Affairs GoI in February 2015 and the matter is actively in process in this regard.
Regarding inner line permit for foreign tourists to Tyakshi village and Thang village, in terms of circular 375 dated 9/11/2009 of Ministry of Home Affairs GoI subsequent SRO no.98 dated 5/3/2010 of the state government, foreign tourists are permitted up-to Tyakshi under Identified Tour Circuit of Nubra Sub-division with certain conditions under the Protected Area Permit Regimen and the government is looking into the matter.
