Implementation frame work laid down for dev of HEPs
in expeditious manner through various modes: Dy CM

Jammu, March 30 (Scoop News)- The Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh while replying to a question by Firdous Ahmed Tak in the Legislative Council today said that for development of hydroelectric power projects in the State in an expeditious manner the Government has laid down an implementation frame work for implementation of the projects in various modes viz State sector, JVC with CPSUs, Large IPP, Small IPP etc.
The Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh said with the said implementation frame work in view, a road map envisaging addition of about 9000 MWs during the 12th and 13th Plan has been drawn up to increase the generation capacity through implementation in various modes as approved by the State Government.
The Deputy Chief Minister added that there are 18 power projects in the Chenab Valley including both under execution and planned for execution with a total capacity of 9196 MWs.


The Deputy Chief Minister said that the government, through an order, has exempted WCT/Entry Tax and waived off 12% free power as well as water usage charges for a period of 10 years from the completion of the project for 1000 MW Pakaldul HEP to improve its viability by bringing down the tariff, as 49% of the power is to be procured by J&K as per the promoters agreement and in terms of the government order.

Rs. 252.67 Cr incurred on Dal cleaning: Dy. CM
The Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh while replying to a question by Ghulam Nabi Monga in the Legislative Council today said that a plan for clearing the Dal Project namely Conservation and Management of Dal/Nageen Lake was approved at the cost of Rs. 298.76 Crore by the Union Ministry of Environment and Forest against which an amount of Rs. 252.67 Crore stands incurred.

The Deputy Chief Minister said that during last year an amount of Rs. 18.06 Crore was utilized under the said project for the components including sewerage treatment works, solid waste management, hydraulic works, restoration development works, catchment management plan, infrastructure facilities, public awareness and provision of land acquisition.


Dr. Nirmal Singh said the Government is providing funds for rehabilitation and resettlement of Dal Dwellers at Rakhi Arth. He said during the last financial year an amount of Rs. 22.50 Crore was utilized for rehabilitation and resettlement of Rakhi Arth colony, construction of STP Brari Nambal at Nallah Amir Khan, laying of secondary/lateral sewers and house connectively in remodelling of existence drains and manual deweeding of Dal-Nageen Lake.

The Deputy Chief Minister said that the development of Dal Lake as world heritage site is priority of Government, adding that necessary measures shall be taken in that direction once a blue print is prepared through reputed consultant.




NHAI starts user fee collection at Ban Toll Plaza: Pawan Gupta

Minister of State for Finance while replying to a question by Jugal Kishore in Legislative Council said that National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has started user fee collection at Ban Toll Plaza w.e.f 20-03-2015. He said State Government does not collect this charge.
The Minister said that as per the National Highways Fee (determination of rates and collection) Rules 2008 same rates are to be charged for all vehicles crossing the toll plaza irrespective of distance travelled on highway.
