Hanjura takes stock of landslide areas in Budgam
Interacts with affected people, assures necessary relief
Budgam, March 31 (Scoop News)- Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura, who is camping in Budgam to oversee the relief and rescue operations due to landslides and incessant rains, today visited several villages and took stock of the situation.
The Minister along with a team of senior officers of District Budgam visited Chrar-e-Sharief, Kakuring, Hapatnar, Tilwanibagh and Chauntinar villages which were worse affected. He interacted with the people and said that the Government is on toes and assured that all necessary steps will be taken to provide assistance to the affected people. He said the district administration has already been geared up to take immediate steps to evacuate people from vulnerable areas to safer places so as to avoid further loss of life.
While inspecting PHC Charar-e-Sharief, the Minister directed the authorities to keep adequate stock of life saving medicines available at the Centre and ensure the functioning of the hospital round the clock so that the people may not suffer in case of eventuality.
The Minister also visited Government Middle School, Government Higher Secondary School and Auqaf Building Charar-e-Sharief, where the affected families have been temporarily accommodated. He distributed blankets among the affected families and issued instructions to the district administration to provide free ration and other basic amenities to these families during their stay in the make shift arrangements.
Hanjura also directed for constitution of Committees to assess the losses due to natural calamities and submitting a detailed report enabling the Government to grant necessary relief to the affected families.
