Spalbar inaugurates New High School building at Chushot Yokma

Leh,April 22 (Scoop News)- On the third day tour of Leh and nearby blocks, the Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Leh Rigzin Spalbar today visited Martselang and Chushot constituency along with Executive Councilor for Health Dr. Sonam Wangchuk and respective Councilors of Martselang Phunchok Wangchuk and Councilor Chushot Gh. Abass Abidi along with a team of district level officers and engineers.
The CEC today inaugurated a new building of 4 classrooms, library, computer, staff room & headmaster room at High School Chuchot Yokma which was constructed at a cost of ₹ 39.80 lacs by PWD. To address the grievances CEC also visited the villages of Shang, Martselang, Hemis- Chomoling, Changa, Stakna Matho, Chushot Gongma, Chushot Shamma, Chushot Yokma and Zamchung.
Yesterday evening CEC also visited Stok village where the villagers kept their demands of completion of circular link road near trekking point, Chutnang link road, upgradation of Medical-Aid-Centre to Primary Health Centre, replacement of old wooden electric poles, side drainage along road-side among others in front of CEC to which he directed the concerned officers for early possible redress.
CEC acknowledging the works done by various departments assured the general public at various places that all the departments are capable of redressing the problems and issues of general public and also assured that they can always approach the Council in case of serious hindrances.
The people of Shang demanded for completion of roads, mobile tower and completion of water supply project. They also demanded for construction of toilets at various tourist camps at Shang and also complained about the loss of livestock by snow leopards and crops by herd deer upon which CEC Spalbar assured to have talks provide home stay facilities and toilets facilities through wildlife and tourism incentive schemes.
At Martselang people demanded for completion and restoration of their irrigations canals before sowing session. Responding to the concern of people about corruption in some sectors in Leh, CEC extended all-out support from present council in curbing the practice of corruption from Leh district and appealed every individual to be practical in raising voice against corruption and asked people to bring cases of corruption with evidence assuring stringent action against corrupt people.
At Hemis-Chomoling, people demanded for the ownership of the land allotted under Igoo-Phey Irrigation Canal which also will help enable them to avail KCC loan and other govt benefits. They also requested for early completion of construction of ration store and to speed up the construction work of link road from Hemis to Changa –Thang.
At Changa farmers demanded for opening of an Animal/Sheep Husbandry Centre upon which CEC directed concerned department to look into this matter to which Dr Shakeel ASH Department assured to look into the possibility of opening up of a First Aid Centre by appointing Rehbar-E- Pashuplan employee. Regarding construction of roads, Exn Construction said that tender in this regard has already been floated. CEC looking at the fast approaching sowing season directed Exn PHE to speed up the ongoing water project in Changa village and earmark the supply line at the earliest on the agricultural land before the sowing season. Exn PHE Tashi Tundup also updated the gathering that work will be completed and will be handed over by the end of July this year.
Regarding the accommodation problem being faced by the ASHAs during delivery of their patients at SNM Hospital, Executive Councillor Health Dr. Sonam Wangchuk informed the people that accommodation facilities has been constructed at SNM Hospital Leh for staying of ASHAs and such accommodations have also been constructed at Nubra, Nyoma and Khaltsi headquarters under NRHM. He also requested to the general public to avail the available commutation facilities being provided to pregnant women at the time of delivery and treatment of new born baby up-to one month old.
At Stakna people demanded Hand pumps and repairment of existing hand pumps. CEC on spot directed Exn. PHE to repair the hand pumps within two days and for sanctioning of new hand pumps, he asked Nambarder/Sarpanch to identify appropriate places. The people also demanded a bridge over the Matho Nallah upon which Spalbar directed I&FC department to look into it. The monks of Stakna Gonpa also requested for widening up of Gonpa road and construction of motorable bridge over Indus River at the old bridge site.
Similarly, CEC gave patient listening to the grievances made by large gatherings of villagers at Matho, Chuchot Gongma, Chuchot Shamma, Chuchot Yokma and Zamchung. It is pertinent to mention here that appreciations were also accorded to the entire officers of line department headed by CEC for the completion of their promised works at many places.
On the fourth and last day tomorrow CEC is scheduled to visit the villages of Shey, Stakmo, Thiksay, Ranbirpur and Nang.
