Water, electricity and roads highlighted in CEC Spalbars four-day visit

Leh, April 23, (Scoop News)-Ice On the last day tour of Leh and nearby blocks, CEC Rigzin Spalbar today visited Shey, Stakmo, Thiksay, Ranbirpur and Nang villages along with Executive Councilor for Health Dr. Sonam Wangchuk, Councilor Thiksay Tundup Spalzang, district level officers and engineers.
CEC today inspected the new under-construction building of Primary Health Centre Thiksay which is being built at the estimated cost of ₹ 59.63 lakhs by PWD. Inspecting the nearly finished building instructed for its early completion for opening up in the service of the people of Thiksay in particular and public in general.
Thiksay with maximum production of milk, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Dr. Abdul Qayum said that Thiksay tops the list with the highest number of successful case of artificial insemination (AI) in the entire Leh district. He further said that the department has also made man-power and infrastructure extension in this area and is working equally very hard in further improvement of AI techniques in the entire region of Leh district.
It is pertinent to mention here that today three employees, PHE line-man Nang village Rigzin Wangyal, senior vetenary pharmacist Mumtaz and attendant Chondol both of Animal Husbandry Department Shey Gongma, for honestly executing their job by working even during odd hours, were highly appreciated by presentation of ‘khataks’- white scarf by CEC on the recommendation of the villagers at their respective gatherings.
CEC at all places gave a patient hearing to the grievances of the villagers and acknowledged the appreciations for various departments at certain places, gave on-spot decisions where necessary and further gave directions to the concerned officers and officials to redress their demands in every possible manner.
Drinking water, electricity and road connectivity/ repairing/black topping being the major need of the general public everywhere, were also highlighted in the four day visit of CEC. Looking at the continuous increase in population CEC assured that efforts will be made to cover every possible demand.
The scheme of Artificial Insemination by the Animal Husbandry Department in villages also had mixed responses to which the officers and officials explained in detail about the process and time needed for its successful implementation and execution to yield optimum benefit.
CEC Spalbar talking about non-issuance of new ration cards said that at present the state govt has banned the issuance of new ration card till the affirmation of 2011 census. However, CEC directed A.D CA&PD Sherab Gyaltson to provide rations to the families on the written note of Nambarders/Sarpanchs of respective villages.
