HCJK supports shutdown call
terms slapping of PSA on Masrat as "undemocratic and unconstitutional"

Srinagar, April 24, (Scoop News)-Terming the Public Safety Act (PSA) on separatist Muslim League leader, Masarat Aalam Bhat, as “worst example of political vendetta”, the Hurriyat Conference Jammu Kashmifitr (HCJK) Friday said the time and again slapping of such black law on Aalam is “undemocratic and unconstitutional.”

“Such an action clearly confirms Mufti Sayeed’s total surrender to New Delhi. He proved to be a puppet in the hands of RSS/BJP and there is no doubt the so-called chief minister is on a mission to facilitate the saffron agenda in Jammu and Kashmir,” the spokesperson of the outfit said in a statement.

He said that in Masarat Aalam’s case, authorities have violated law and judicial norms. “In fact, they (authorities) want to give impression that whoever raises his genuine voice against them will be put behind bars without any justification. We vehemently condemn such act.

According to spokesperson, the amalgam will also support the shutdown call given by Hurriyat Conference (G) on Saturday against the “illegal” and “unjustified” arrest of Masarat Aalam Bhat.

The HCJK spokesperson warned people to remain vigilant against plans of the coalition partners of PDP-BJP government “who are implementing hidden agendas of RSS in Kashmir.

“Mufti government under the soft policy is trying to cause utmost damage to the separatistism and is hell bent upon changing the demography of the State of Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.

Terming Mufti’s slogans of “zero tolerance” as “hollow” and “deceptive”, the spokesperson said, “He (Mufti) talked of inviting political opponents to dialogue but ended in putting them behind bars. The killings of innocent youth at the hands of occupational forces didn’t stop.

Commenting on issue of Kashmiri Pandits, the HCJK spokesperson said those groups who are asking for separate townships and pitch for abolition of Article 370 in these towns “want to destroy the centuries-old social fabric of Kashmir.”

“Kashmiri Pandits should not become part of the New Delhi’s agenda that wants to destroy the religious harmony of Kashmir. It is New Delhi’s well planned conspiracy to change the demography of the state by settling the outsiders here,” he said, adding that Hurriyat Conference Jammu Kashmir (HCJK) would resist any move aimed at creating a wedge between the two communities.
