Mirwaiz expresses dismay over rising incidents of domestic violence in Kashmir | |
Srinagar, May 6, (Scoop News)-APHC leader and head of Muthaida- Majlis e Ulema. Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has expressed serious concern over the rising incidents of domestic violence in Kashmir.
He said recent statement of doctors in the valley stating that around 10 cases of domestic violence against women and cases of suicide are being registered every day at hospitals is alarming.
The recent cases where two women were burnt alive in Srinagar and the death of a woman in domestic violence in Pulwama are eye openers. He demanded stern and immediate action against the accused.
He appealed to the people in particular the respected elders of the society to play their role in stopping these heinous crimes which go against the very core of Islamic values and should have no place in our society.
