SWD Reasi organizes awareness camp | | Reasi, May 06 (Scoop News)-Social Welfare Department Reasi organized an awareness camp at Kotla, Reasi today. The awareness camp was an effort to provide benefits of various schemes run by the department at the door step of people and to familiarize the public with various social welfare schemes being implemented by the department. The camp was attended by a large number of locals including sarpanches, panches, prominent citizens, Asha workers, Anganwadi workers, school teachers and students. During the camp the medical team led by BMO Reasi Dr Tanveer Ahmad and BMO Pouni Dr Rashpal Singh assessed the people with disabilities and on spot issued 40 disability certificates. They were also assured that the Dept will provide them basic assistance very soon. Besides, the team also issued 140 age certificates to old aged and widows. In order to streamline disbursement of pension, ensure the disbursement to right beneficiary, eliminate errors in beneficiaries’ list and filter out ineligible beneficiaries, social audit was also carried by the department during the camp. While addressing the gathering District Social Welfare Officer Rafiq Ahmad Jaral stressed upon the people to come forward for availing the benefits of various schemes such as Pension schemes (National Social Assistance Programme, Integrated Social security Scheme, Contributory Social security Scheme), National Family Benefit Scheme, Aam Admi Bima Yojna and Rehabilitation of militancy victims scheme. Teachers were also requested for in time submission of scholarship proposals of eligible students under various categories. Jaral informed that it is necessary that awareness should be created for taking advantage of the welfare schemes and for this a comprehensive awareness programme is going to be launched in the district to make people aware about the various schemes and provide them benefits of these schemes at their door steps. ... |
