| Ensure smooth traffic movement on Sgr-Leh road: Anayat Ali to Div Admn | |
Srinagar,May 15 (Scoop News)-J&K Legislative Council, Haji Anayat Ali has stressed upon the divisional administration to evolve a strategy for plying traffic on Srinagar-Kargil-Leh road in such a manner that uninterrupted vehicular movement is ensured so that people of twin districts do not face any inconvenience.
The Chairman was chairing a meeting of officers of divisional administration to discuss measures for smooth traffic regulation on the road which has been opened for vehicular traffic after closure for winter months.
Anayat Ali said that Srinagar-Leh road is the only surface link between Ladakh with Kashmir and asked the authorities that preference be given to the vehicles carrying essential commodities, LPG, and medicines to the area besides stocking of ration needs to be preferred.
The Chairman instructed the IGP Traffic to ensure that no exorbitant fair is asked from the passengers. He stressed for keeping vigil on traffic movement to avoid accidents on the road.
Anayat Ali asked the BECON authorities to repair the stretches of the road which were damaged due to rains and snow during winter so that traffic plies smoothly.
Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Gaznaffer Hussain, IGP Traffic Kashmir Zone, J.P Singh, senior officers of the divisional administration attended the meeting.
