Dy. CM reviews Amarnath Yatra arrangements
Asks Departments to work in close coordination for smooth conduct
Srinagar, May 20 (Scoop News)-Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh today directed the departments to work in close coordination for ensuring smooth conduct of the ensuing annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.
The Deputy Chief Minister was chairing a review meeting convened to discuss the issues relating to smooth conduct of ensuing Amarnath Ji Yatra starting from 2nd July.
It was attended by Minister for Revenue, Javaid Mustafa Mir, Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Ch. Sukhnandan Kumar, Minister for Forests, Ecology and Environment Bali Bhagat, Minister of State for R&B, Sunil Sharma besides Director General of Police, Principal Secretary to the Governor, Principal Secretary PDD, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Commissioner-Secretaries to Government R&B, Health and Medical Education, Secretary, Irrigation and PHE and IGsP, CID and Kashmir.
The Deputy Chief Minister directed the officers to ensure that all arrangements are put in place in a foolproof manner so that smooth conduct of upcoming Yatra is ensured in which devotees from different States of the country participate. He said that lacuna if any should be removed so that the departments work in close coordination and in a synergized manner.
The meeting was told that the Yatra would last for 59 days beginning from 2nd July and culminating on 29th of August. The 430 branches of various banks are registering yatries on daily basis besides the provision of booking the helicopter tickets online is also there.
The State has recently installed high-end Doppler for determining the weather forecast in advance so that accurate information can be provided to yatries and also safety measures are taken.
It was given out in the meeting that access control rooms would be established at Domail and Chandanwari besides current registration provisions for the yatries would also be provided. The necessary sanitation measures would be put in place during the yatra days enroute and also at the base camps, the meeting was also told.
. The Health Department was told to make available ventilators at base hospitals besides setting up of more health control-rooms for general convenience of the yatries.
It was also given out in the meeting that all the necessary security arrangements enroute have also been worked out and foolproof mechanism would be put in place to check any untoward incident.
The Deputy Chief Minister directed the R&B Commissioner Secretary to undertake necessary repairs of the routes of the yatra besides also ensure the same on National Highway.
