| 2 Drug Peddlers held in Kupwara | | A notorious burglar involved in 5 cases arrested in Kupwara |
Srinagar, May 21 (Scoop News)-Kupwara police arrested two peddlers in two separate incidents and recovered consignments of Codeine Phosphate bottles from them besides a notorious burglar who is involved in 5 cases of burglary in Kupwara and Handwara was also arrested by a night patrol party.
On a routine patrolling in the evening hours a police party of Police Station Kupwara noticed a suspicious movement of a person with hand bag in main market of Kupwara. The vigilant police party succeeded in nabbing the suspect who was identified as Rashid Malik son of Ghulam Nabi Malik resident of Malik Mohalla Kupwara. Upon searching his bag, police recovered about 20 bottles of Codeine Phosphate. A case FIR No. 132/2015 under section 8/21 NDPS Act was registered in Police Station Kupwara and investigation has been taken up.
Meanwhile, earlier Kupwara police apprehended a drug peddler Abdul Rashid Mir son of Sonaullah Mir resident of Battergam Kupwara and recovered 10 Codeine phosphate bottles from his possession. The accused was arrested and case FIR No. 123 U/S 8/21 NDPS Act was registered against him in Police Station Kupwara.
On 20-05-2015 a police party of police station Kupwara apprehended a notorious burglar of the area Mudasir Ahmad son of Abdul Majeed Lone resident of Mughalpora Kupwara and recovered 02 stolen mobile handsets from his possession. The accused burglar was at large in about 05 burglary cases in not only Kupwara but also in Handwara area, which include Case FIR No’s 24/2013, 111/2013, 67/2015, 133 under section 379/RPC of police Station Kupwara besides in case FIR No. 07/2015 in Police Station Handwara.
