Reasi, May 21, (Scoop News)-Anti - Terrorism Day was observed at Sila Garrison near Reasi on Thursday by holding a oath-taking - ceremony attended by all officers, junior commissioned officers (JCO) and other ranks including civil staff, a defence spokesman said.
He said the celebration of such events help in generating awareness amongst the citizens regarding the perils of terrorism as well as its adverse effect on the country and the world.
"The day beholds special importance for people in uniform who have been fighting the war against terror and have laid their lives to maintain peace and harmony in the nation", the spokesman added.
He said all ranks of Headquarters Counter Insurgency Force (Uniform) based at Reasi took the pledge “to uphold and promote peace, social harmony and understanding among all fellow human beings and fight the forces of disruption threatening human lives and values".
