Pakherpora to be developed as Model Town: Hanjura
Srinagar, July 06 (Scoop News)-Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura has said that Pakherpora will be developed as Model Town and for the purpose necessary directions have already been given to the concerned for preparing Detailed Project Reports (DPRs).
He said famous for the shrine of Hazrat Sultan Sayeed Muhammad Ali Aali (RA), Pakherpora is also pitched on a beautiful locale surrounded by mountains and pastures. He said the area has tremendous potential for both traditional as well as religious tourism.
This was stated by the Minister at an impressive Public Durbar held at Pakherpora today.
The Minister heard the people’s grievances with patience and issued on-the-spot instructions to the district administration Budgam for immediate redressal of their genuine demands.
Responding to the demands, the Minister directed the Tourism department to ensure that the streetlights installed in Chrar-e- Sharief and Pakerpora towns are made functional within a week. He also instructed for construction of Sarai at Pakherpora. The Minister said that the Wakf Board has already been asked to renovate the Ziarat Sharief.
Hanjura announced construction of playground and fencing of government High School, Pakherpora. He also directed the concerned for opening of Elaquai Dehati Bank in the area.
The Minister directed the concerned to organize awareness camps in the area and educate the farmers about the schemes and programmes and latest technologies about the fertilizers, pesticides and other facilities being provided by the State and Central Governments for the welfare of the farmers.
The Minister directed the concerned to prepare Detailed Project Report for construction of bridge over Lakdi Nallah and submit the same to the concerned quarter so that the funds could be arranged for the purpose.
Responding to the demand of on-spot recruitment in policy and timely sanctioning of old age pension, the Minister assured them that these demands will be looked into.
Earlier, the Minister paid obeisance at the Ziariat of Hazrat Sultan Sayeed Muhhamd Ali Aali (RA) Pakherpora and prayed for the welfare of the people of the State.
Later, the Minister inspected ongoing construction work on the new building for 50-beded Community Health Centre (CHC) Pakherpora coming up at a cost of Rs 15.45 crore. He was informed that Rs 5.7 crore have been incurred on the project so far and the work on the building is apace.
The Minister directed the executing agency - Jammu & Kashmir Projects Construction Corporation (JKPCC) to redouble their efforts and speed up the pace of work and complete the building within stipulated timeframe.
Earlier, the Minister visited Nagbal village and inspected the site proposed for Primary Health Centre (PHC) and directed the executing agencies to start the construction work on the project immediately.
Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Altaf Ahmed Mir, Director Health Services, Kashmir, Chief Executive Officer, Yousmarg Development Authority and other senior officers of Budgam district administration accompanied the Minister during his tour.
