Jammu to be developed as independent tourist destination
Nirmal announces developmental projects for Jammu

Jammu, July 06 (Scoop News)-Dy. Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh, while addressing a massive gathering of party activists and general public in a function held in connection with unveiling of the statue of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookherjee on his 114th birth anniversary, said that the PDP-BJP coalition government has initiated a number of developmental projects for all the three regions of the state, with Jammu getting its due share.
Dr. Nirmal Singh, while elaborating on these projects, said that the government is working towards making Jammu an independent tourist destination, which will attract people from outside the state and also generate employment. He said that Multi story parkings in Jammu city will be setup to ease the traffic congestion, both the banks of river Tawi will be developed on the pattern of Sabarmati river of Gujrat. Not only this, work on artificial lake has been accelerated for early completion. The government has also plans to construct and develop Palika Bazaar pattern underground markets in Parade and Gandhi Nagar, disclosed Dr. Singh.
The Dy. CM further said that water sports facilities will be provided in Ranjit Sagar lake and Baglihar project to the level of International spots.
Referring to the recently held meeting of Patnitop Development Authority, Dr. Singh said that the government has announced a special package for further development of the famous Patnitop tourist destination, which will also attract more tourists and result into prosperity of the adjoining areas.
Making a fervent appeal to adopt Yoga in daily life, Dr. Nirmal Singh said that the coalition government is focusing on taking this natural and ancient way of curing to the masses and it is in this regard that a Yoga Centre of International level is going to be setup at Mantalai. He said that the government has undertaken a number of steps during its short span of just about four months and a lot is going to be done in the coming days.
