Councillor Diskit Tsewang Rigzin visits far flung areas of Leh


Leh,July 28 (Scoop News)- Councillor Diskit Tsewang Rigzin visited Diggar,Khema-Khyungroo, Agyam and Tangyar villages to review ongoing developmental activities in the area. The Councillor was accompanied by officials from the PWD and the Rural Development departments.

He informed the people that Link Road to Khyungroo Gonpa and Sakthok Diggar are being taken up under ‘projectisation’ scheme and asked the officials of the PWD to immediate process tendering of these roads so as to ensure early execution of works.


People at Diggar informed that Councillor that the Solar Power Plant installed by LREDA is not functioning on account of some technical fault. They also requested that the Solar Power Plant be replaced with a Diesel Generator set if technical repeated faults are not rectified to make the Solar Power Plant functional. Councillor assured that he
would take it up with LREDA to immediately rectify the problem with the Solar Power Plant. Damages have been caused to Tokpos of Agyam and Tangyar recently due to sudden rise of water in these streams. He assured to take up the restoration of these streams with LAHDC for necessary funding.


Meanwhile, Councillor Diskit today spoke to Officer Commanding, 54 RCC Major, Anil Kumar over phone and requested to immediately restore Rongjuk bridge which has been damaged by flood like situation about a week ago and as a result of which Diggar, Tangyar and Khema vllages continue to remain cut off from rest of Nubra by road connectivity.
OC 54 RCC assured that BRO will resume restoration of Rongjuk road and bridge very soon.”
