Div Com visits Gurez
Reviews sector-wise activities
Bandipora , August 26 (Scoop News)- Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon along with a team of officers visited Gurez and took stock of the development works, welfare schemes and work culture in the offices.
The Divisional Commissioner convened a meeting of the officers of various functionaries at Dak Bungalow Dawar and reviewed sector wise progress of development works. The Sectors which were reviewed include; Education, R&B, Rural Development, PHE, Health, Power, Agriculture, Horticulture, Sports, Fisheries, Revenue, Forest, PMGSY etc.
The Divisional Commissioner reviewed the achievements made under various Centrally Sponsored Schemes like; MG NREGA, SSA, RMSA, RKVY, NMSA, NRHM etc. Besides this, issues with regard to winter stocking of essential commodities which include Rice, Atta, Sugar, Kerosene oil, LPG for the area was reviewed threadbare during the meeting. Progress in establishment of KVK at Gurez by SKUAST-K was also discussed.
The Divisional Commissioner on the occasion impressed upon the officers to address public grievances and solve their genuine problems on priority. He said that a number of programmes and schemes have been started for the welfare of the people and thus, these plans and schemes should reach to common people by way of organising awareness camps and seminars.
Emphasizing the need for early execution of on-going development projects, Divisional Commissioner directed the concerned agencies to speed up pace of work on these works and ensure completion of the projects within the limited time frame.
The meeting was attended by District Development Commissioner Bandipora, Sajad Husain, SDM Gurez, other Sectoral and District level officers.
The Divisional Commissioner later visited Baktoor village and inspected the potato farm of Agriculture department. He also visited Sub District Hospital Dawar and inspected various wards and interacted with the doctors, patients and attendants to know about the available facilities for them there.
Delegations from various villages also met Divisional Commissioner and presented before him their problems. The Divisional Commissioner assured them that their genuine demands would be addressed on priority.
