14 Corps holds Ex Servicemen's Rally, Gen. Patyal presides over the event
Phyang (Ladakh), August 26, (Scoop News)-An “Ex-Servicemen Rally” was organised at Ladakh Scouts Regimental Centre near (Phyang) in Leh under aegis of 14 Corps which was attended by large number of veterans, war heroes and veer naris from across Ladakh Region, a defence spokesman said on Wednesday.

"During the function the fond memories and contribution of the brave veterans during their service career as well as those of the martyrs in various operations since 1948 were rekindled. All veterans, war heroes and veer naris were felicitated", he added.

The “Awareness & Information Stalls” provided an opportunity to veterans and veer naris to get acquainted with various welfare schemes launched by the s n Indian Army, the spokesman said adding the rally also provided an opportunity to our veterans to avail medical facilities and rejuvenate their ties with the serving brethren.

Lt Gen SK Patyal, General Officer Commanding-14 Corps, was chief guest of the event.

He gave assurance of fullest support to all veterans and veer naris towards their welfare and upliftment of quality of life through proactive involvement in problem resolution.

President, Ex-servicemen league gave a vote of thanks after the event.
RR involves school students for spreading message of "Cleaner and Greener India".



Kalal, August 26, (Scoop News)_ The Rashtriya Rifles under aegis of Uniform Force Headquarter conducted an afforestration drive by incorporating the “school students” to spread the message of “Cleaner & Greener India” wherein, the schools will look after the part of the forest after planting saplings till the trees are fully grown, a defence spokesman said on Wednesday
He said the unique project undertaken by Kalal based Rashtriya Rifles in conjunction with the students of all the s n schools at Bareri, Deing, Mangiote, Siyal, Gagrote, Simbal, Seri, Kalal and Beri Pattan made an endeavour to improve the biodiversity in their area by owning a part of the local forest.
The afforestration drive in conjunction with forest department has resulted in plantation of more than 2500 trees including 700 fruit bearing saplings in the area till now, the spokesman added.
