Rigid attitude of India & Pakistan in respect of Kashmir policy unfortunate and anti peace : Vakil

Rafiabad, August 27 (Scoop News)-Former Minister Mr. Abdul Gani Vakil today appealed the Prime Minister of India to revisit Kashmir policy with a strong resolve to reestablish permanent peace in Kashmir Valley. He described the rigid attitude of India and Pakistan in respect of Kashmir policy as unfortunate and an anti peace move.

He said that GoI talked to extremists and militants of Northeast without any hesitation but censured Hurriyat leaders without any reason and rhyme. He said that there is no logic in declaring Hurriyat as a non party because it was during the BJP rule when Hurriyat leaders met the then Deputy Prime Minister Shri LK Advani. He said that prime objective of initiating CBMs or appointment of interlocutors etc. was to infuse confidence amongst the masses in J&K so that peace, development besides an honorable and acceptable solution to Kashmir issue could be worked out but rigid and prima facie unjustified attitude of both the Countries have jolted peace measures initiated during Vajpayee’s era. Mr. Vakil was addressing workers convention at Nowpora Sopore.

While addressing the gathering Mr. Vakil that Central Government must explain and justify reasons for adopting double standards because on one hand Hurriyat Leaders are given Passports and Visas to visit every country including Pakistan and also facilitated to meet everyone there but on the other hand they are not being allowed to meet same people from Pakistan in their own country which is beyond prudence.

Accusing PDP and NC of back stabbing people of the State during their tenures, Vakil said their moral bankruptcy pushed people to the wall and even deprived them of basic and necessary amenities. He said that all the regional players rather than mitigating the miseries of the people of the State amused huge wealth and left no stone unturned to exploit them on Autonomy or Self Rule. Mr. Vakil said that now time is demanding a complete revamp of the political dimensions and system in the whole State as people are now fed up of the conventional and monopolized political position. He said that all the like minded political leaders must get united to change the fortunes of the poor people of the State without any delay.

Besides others who addressed the gathering include Sr Leaders Ghulam Nabi Shah, Haji Mohammad Afzal Khan, Javed Ahmad Masoodi(Advocate), Haji Ghulam Ahmad Dar, Ghulam Hassan Lone, Bashir Ahmad Sheikh.
