Another "guest" militant captured live, Four accomplices eliminated in firefight near LoC in Baramulla
Rafiabad (Baramulla), August 27, (Scoop News)-Indian army on Thursday captured a Pakistani militant during an encounter near Line of Control (LoC) in North Kashmir's Baramulla district, an official said.

"So far four militants were killed in the encounter that started two days ago on Tuesday morning near Rafiabad forests and one of them has been captured while trying to flee from the scene of encounter", he said adding he was the second Pakistani militant who has been captured.

Earlier on August 3, Pakistani militant Mohammad Naveed was over powered and captured by two civilians after his accomplice was gunned down by a BSF bus guard cum co driver near Udhampur in Jammu region after they (Pak militants) attacked the bus and killed two paramilitary personnel.


" We are checking the identity of the captured militant and we have yet to ascertain whether he is Pakistani or a local militant”, a senior official told Scoop News, seeking anonymity as he is not authorised to speak to the media. He, however, confirmed that four militants were eliminated in the encounter and one of them has been captured from the scene of encounter in Uri sector near LoC.


Preliminary reports suggest, the captured terrorist has been identified as Sajjad Ahmed (22) and belongs to Muzaffar Gar Baloch of Pakistan, the official said adding, "he will be shifted to Srinagar soon for detailed questioning".


The firefight began on Tuesday morning after the army launched an operation at Qazinag area in North Kashmir district of Baramulla and in the initial gun battle one militant was killed.

He said that the operation continued through out the night and army cordoned off vast areas in Uri and Rafiabad sectors near LoC. Three more militants were eliminated on Thursday while other militant was captured.

The operation is still going in the area and the army is now conducting searches in surrounding villages of Uri and Rafiabad in Baramulla district.
