JKEDI Reasi convenes awareness programmes
Reasi, August 28 (Scoop News)-J&K Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI), Reasi, today organized series of entrepreneurship awareness programmes in the remote areas of the district including Mahore, Chajjru, Buddhan, Sildhar and Jamslan.
During the awareness programmes the youth were educated about the incentives provided under the scheme and encouraged them to opt for self entrepreneurship programme of the Government.
J&K Entrepreneurship Development Institute, a pioneering institute of entrepreneurship development in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, is playing a major role in providing a pro-entrepreneurial environment to foster the progress and prosperity of the state.
District Nodal Officer (DNO) JKEDI Reasi, Vir Partap Singh Slathia highlighted different schemes of the state and central government which mainly included Seed Capital Fund Scheme (SCFS) , youth start up loan scheme, Himayat and National Minorities Development Finance Cooperation (NMDFC) Schemes being implemented by JKEDI.
He stressed upon the youth to take entrepreneurship as a career option and discussed in detail various potential sectors in the state like Agri-allied sector, horticulture, floriculture, dairy farming, poultry, tourism, food processing manufacturing and services .
SCFS is a major component of Sher-e-Kashmir Employment Welfare Programme for Youth (SKEWPY), a landmark economic empowerment initiative of the state. The scheme provides seed money up to Rs 7.50 lakhs coupled with bank finance at concessional rates to eligible youth for setting up their enterprises. The institute is the sole implementing agency for the scheme whereas J&K Bank is its debt syndicator
A part of the Jammu and Kashmir government’s flagship Sher-e-Kashmir Employment and Welfare Programme for Youth (SKEWPY), YSLS is a pilot off bank credit facility up to a maximum of Rs 8 lakh for young startup entrepreneurs
Financial assistance for projects costing up to Rs.4 lakh is provided to backward sections among minorities under NMDFC’s term loan scheme at concessional interest rates, he said.
