Focused attention on equitable development: Bali Bhagat
Calls for community participation for ecological preservation
Jammu, August 31 (Scoop News)-Reiterating that equitable development of all the regions is being given focused attention, the Minister for Forest, Environment & Ecology and Social Welfare, Bali Bhagat said that area specific development projects have been devised to meet the needs of the people.
The Minister was speaking at a meeting with local representatives at Barnai today.
The Minister also dedicated 100 KVA transformer to the people of Mohalla Verma, Barnai installed under the Constituency Development Fund (CDF). He said with the installation of this new transformer a population of 2000 souls of Raipur Domana constituency and adjoining areas would get adequate power supply.
Various deputations and individual from Burn, Batera, Lower Barnai and Lohar Mohalla also met the Minister and apprised him about their problems and demands. The demands projected by the people included replacement of old water pipes, repair of lanes and drains, upgradation of roads with blacktopping, uninterrupted power supply and water supply. Responding to the demands, Bhagat said that government is aware of the difficulties of the people of rural and backward areas and all steps will be taken to provide better amenities to them.
The Minister said Raipur Domana constituency has witnessed massive development in every sector and is receiving priority attention in the policy planning of various schemes in sector of PHE, R&B, Health, Irrigation, Tourism, Employment, social welfare and education.
Bali Bhagat asked the department to work in coordination so that benefits of different schemes reach the grass root level. He also stressed on inter departmental synergy and community participation for increasing the green cover and protection of traditional water bodies like ponds. He directed for chalking out a comprehensive plan for protecting the local water bodies in the areas.
Among others SE PDD, senior officers of concerned departments, sarpanchs and panches were also present on the occasion.
