| Poll preparations in Leh in full swing | | 
Leh, October 4, (Scoop News)- In connection with holding of 5th General Council Elections of LAHDC-Leh, the initial election training for officers and officials of State Govt. working in Leh district were conducted at Leh and other sub-divisions of the district today.
At Leh around thousand Govt. employees were imparted basic training in election procedure like handling of ballot boxes, filling up of the forms, maintenance of law and order for free, fair and transparent elections, role and responsibility of presiding and polling officers, setting up of polling stations etc.
The master trainers, Tashi Tsetan and Thinles Dawa gave detailed theoretical as well as practical training to the participants in the first phase today at Sindhu Sanskrit Kendra Leh.
The District Election Officer, Leh R.K Badyal highlighted the election rules and regulations. He urged the officials to take the training seriously making themselves fully conversant about the conduct of polling and to ensure free, fair and transparent elections leaving no room for any compliant. He said that this time the services of female employees will also be utilized in conduct of elections process.
Similarly, same kind of training was also conducted in Khaltsi in presence of SDM Khaltsi. The training was attended by the officers and officials of Khaltsi and Likir sub-division. In Nubra sub-division some 421 government employees, around 248 government employees in Kharu and 184 employees in Nyoma sub-division in presence of SDM, Nyoma attended similar trainings.
