LA- Rajouri district has 2 Municipal Committees: Dy CM
“Rs 8.90 lakh needed for replacement of damaged transformers in Kathua”
Srinagar, October 6,(Scoop News)-,Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh, Tuesday said two Municipal Committees, Thanamandi and Rajouri, exist in Rajouri constituency.


In reply to a question by Choudhary Qamar Hussain, MLA Rajouri, the Deputy Chief Minister said Rs 275.71 lakh revenue has been earned by these municipal committees and Rs 1478.17 lakh has been allocated to them during the last two years.
"Rs 100.117 lakhs have been spent on 129 developmental works by these two committees in Thanamandi and Rajouri. Under Swatch Bharat Mission, a sanitation drive was conducted by the Municipal Committee with the help of District Administration, Schools and NGOs along with an awareness camp," he said.
Dr Singh said the government has identified land for construction of Solid Waste Management Plant in the area. "As and when the land is transferred to Municipal Committee Rajouri, the construction work will begin. One JCB and one tipper have been purchased for smooth conduct of sanitation work out of the Committee’s own resources," he said.
The Minister further informed the House that 70 building permission cases have been approved by the committee and also Death and Birth Certificates issued online. "To provide the streetlights to the Municipal inhabitants, Municipal Committee Rajouri is maintaining streetlight by repairing old streetlights and also by installing lights on the demand of public," he said.




Rs 8.90 lakh needed for replacement of damaged transformers in Kathua: Dy CM


The J&K Government Tuesday said Rs 8.90 lakh are required for replacement of 139 damaged distribution transformers in Kathua district.
In reply to a question by MLA Jeevan Lal, Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh, who is incharge Power Minister said 139 damaged transformers are lying at different sites of Bani, Basohli and Billawar constituencies which are to be carried to divisional workshop in Kathua.
"In addition, 20 MVA, 66/11 KV Power Transformer is lying at Hatli Morh, Receiving Sub-Station for repair purposes. There is no sub-station in Bani constituency which is without electricity from five to six months," he said.





Decision to setup Industrial Estate at Tral revoked in light of SC ruling: Ganga
The J&K Government Tuesday said the decision to build an Industrial Estate in Tral has been revoked in light of a ruling by the Supreme Court.
In reply to a question by Mushtaq Ahmad Shah, MLA Tral, Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Parkash Ganga, informed the house that the previous government had identified 177 kanals of land in Takia Razak Shah of Tral for setting up an Industrial Estate.
"Revenue papers were prepared and forwarded to the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir. However, the Revenue Department has not agreed to the establishment of the industrial estate owing to Apex Court judgment in a case titled Jagpal Singh and others V/S State of Punjab and Others," Mr Ganga said.
The Minister said an alternate suitable land for establishing the industrial estate at Tral is being identified.
MLA Pampore, Mir Zahoor, raised a supplementary question related to the matter.




DPRs formulated for upgradation of roads in Khawaja Habibullah Nowshehri Colony: Altaf Bukhari


The Government Tuesday said the Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) worth Rs 445 lakh have been formulated for upgradation of various roads in Khawaja Habibullah Nowshehri Colony in Srinagar.
Replying to a question by MLA Zadibal, Abid Hussain Ansari, Minister for R&B, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari informed the house that the project is not approved under any program or scheme due to resource constraints.
"The DPRs for expansion of Imambada at Zadibal have been prepared at a cost of Rs 6614 lakhs," he said.
The Minister further said that 162 developmental works have been taken up in Zadibal constituency during the last two years.




Rs 1 cr released to Doda under SDRF: Basharat Bukhari
The Government Tuesday said Rs 10 crore have been released to Divisional Commissioner Jammu under State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) during 2015-16 to deal with the aftermath of natural calamities.
"Under SDRF, Rs 1 crore was provided by Divisional Commissioner Jammu to the district administration Doda during April 2015, for relief and restoration of damaged public infrastructure," Syed Basharat Bukhari, Relief and Rehabilitation Minister, told the House.
In reply to a question by MLA Shakti Raj Parihar, the Minister said out of Rs 1 crore, Rs 50 lakh have been provided by the district administration to the concerned departments for restoration of damaged infrastructure.
"The balance Rs 50 lakh has been provided to respective tehsildars of the district for disbursement to the affected families. If required, additional amount will be provided as per SDRF norms," he said.
The Minister further informed the house that in order to mitigate the sufferings of the affected people, blankets, tents and free ration is provided to the affected as required.
Supplementary questions were raised by Dilip Singh Parihar and Javed Hassan Beg on the matter.
