Srinagar, October 6, (Scoop News)-Jammu and Kashmir Muttaheda Majlis-e-Ulema (MMU) Tuesday said the proposed seminar of Ahmedias (Qadyanis) at Srinagar on Saturday would arouse passions and disturb the region’s environment of religious tolerance.
In a joint statement MMU said Qadyanis were known to deny the finality of Prophet Muhammad and thus are not considered to be Muslims or following the tenants of Islam.
A spokesman said the proposed seminar of the Ahmedias at SKICC in Srinagar, the summer capital, was aimed at spreading the base of Qadyanis or Mirzais in Kashmir and would end up in disturbing an environment of religious tolerance in the region.
The spokesman said the activities of Ahmedias were a matter of grave concern and if permission was granted to allow such a seminar, it would arouse religious passions and be instrumental in disturbing peace.
The spokesman said no organization or individual would be permitted to disrespect Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and that giving permission to the proposed seminar of Qadyanis on October 10, 2015 at SKICC was like playing with the fire.
He said that on the same day (Saturday) at the same venue (SKICC), MMU would organize a counter-seminar ‘Tahafuz-e-Imaan aur Mirzai Saazishen" which would be attended by prominent Ulemas and intellectuals.
Meanwhile a high-level delegation of MMU comprising of advocate Zahid Ali, Abdul Rehman Bhat and Moulana M S Rehman met with Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar and sought permission for organizing the seminar at SKICC. ... |
