NCSU affiliated students sweep Commerce College elections
Progressive approach alone can bring harmony in society: Rana
Jammu, November 26 (Scoop News)-Reposing his immense trust in the wisdom of youth in carving out a harmonious society based on love, compassion and brotherhood, Provincial President Mr Devender Singh Rana on Thursday hailed the outcome of the crucial elections of SPMR Commerce College, Jammu, describing these as the victory of progressive thought.

“The results come as soothing breather in the alarmingly choking atmosphere of intolerance with students opting for progressive and forward looking thought”, Mr Rana said while felicitating the winners, who owe allegiance to National Conference Students Union (NCSU). He said progressive approach alone can bring harmony in the society.
The elections were held on non-political basis.
Mr Rana especially hailed the spirit demonstrated by the student community as a whole during electioneering and polling by maintaining peace and order thus enabling their representative body to be in place. “Now that the elections are over, the bitterness of the campaigning should be forgotten”, he said and hoped that elected representatives and those who lost will work in tandem to create an atmosphere which is conducive for the overall growth of the student community and larger interest of academics. He said camaraderie is imperative for the younger generation to grow in unison and work for betterment of the society.
The Provincial President appreciated the apolitical nature of the elections and complimented the winners, owing allegiance to NCSU, in generating an atmosphere of brotherhood within the student community. He described this spirit as unique, saying the maturity and sagacity shown by the students rekindles hope for better tomorrow. He exuded confidence that the present day student leaders will lead the state and the nation in different fields with much more confidence and vigour. He reminded the youngsters of their responsibilities towards strengthening the bonds of amity, brotherhood and inclusiveness among the people in true spirit of the State’s composite cultures.
Mr Rana congratulated both winners and losers for demonstrating high degree of understanding and maintaining peace during elections, hoping those in the political arena to emulate this spirit. “There has never ever been need for better understanding as of now when the society is fast getting pollarised on regional and relig9ious lines”, he said adding that if the younger lot can do it why politicians can’t follow the suit.
State Vice President Mr Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial Youth National Conference President Mr Ajaz Jan besides National Conference leader Mr S N Khajuria also congratulated the newly elected office bearers of the College Union and hoped they will work for the betterment of the student community.
Mr Rana and other leaders greeted Sushil Kapil for being elected as President, Shwetank Mahajan as Vice President, Shubam Verma as General secretary, Sumitpal Singh-joint Secretary and Yogesh Verma, Anuj Sabarwal, Sagar Mehra, Sahil Kumar, Ankush Goja and Rajat Soni as Cleass Representatives.
