Vibodh for Re-Surveying of Jammu migrants
Says ST status to Paharies will be biggest justice to community

Poonch /Jammu, November 26 (Scoop News)- Pressing goverment for re-survey to identify migrants of Jammu province, Member Legislative Council Advocate Vibodh Gupta has said that government for the first time in history has started considering every region of the state equally by announcing treatment of Jammu migrants at par with Kashmiri migrants.

Talking to Bar Council members of Surankote, Advocate Gupta said that it is welcome step by Modi government at Centre and Mufti goverment in state that Jammu migrants are being treated at par with Kashmiri migrants. He said that there was discrimination with the migrants of Jammu and he always highlighted the issue in past and demanded equal treatment to displaced people and he is thankful to goverment for considering this long pending demand but there is chaos in the lists of migrants which needed to be re framed. He said that all migrants of jammu are not figuring in the lists who migrated during militancy from various areas of Jammu region and these people deserve perks at par with the KPs.

He said that re survey is the option to redress this issue so that all deserved migrants get relief. It is pertinent to mention here that Vibodh Gupta was given warm welcome at Surankote by the people especially bar members where in his address he spoke at length on the topic of scheduled tribe status to Pahari community. He said that this community deserve this status and goverment must consider this long pending demand so that the issues of Pahari community could be resolved. The MLC thanked PM Modi for four lanning of Jammu Poonch Road and demanded immediate repair and widening of Surankote Baflias Road. He said that this road is in delapidated condition and focus need to be given on it to lessen the miseries of people of Surankote and Poonch. Meanwhile on the demand of Bar Association Surankote, Gupta announced Rs 2 lakh for construction of 2 bathrooms in the court complex. He also thanked bar members for their cooperation.
