E - Aushadhi to be introduced for streamlining procurement of drugs :Lal Singh
Jammu, November 27 (Scoop News)-Minister for Health and Medical Education, ARI and Trainings Choudhary Lal Singh has said that e-Aushadhi a web based supply chain management application will be introduced in the State to improve the stock and supply of the drugs and surgical equipments in the health institutions of the State.
This was stated by the Minister while addressing a meeting of officers of Jammu and Kashmir Medical Supplies Corporation Ltd here this morning.
The Minister said that this application will keep a check on purchase, inventory management and distribution of various drugs, and surgical items to various drug warehouses of the State, district hospitals, primary health centres and community health centres.
Choudhary Lal Singh said that the system will ensures that the drug reaches the ultimate beneficiary with uncompromised quality and will also improve efficiency and effectiveness of procurement and distribution of drugs besides ensuring transparency in supply chain. He said that the system will help effective monitoring of stocks and tracking of supplier activities adding that the Web application will support central/state governments schemes like Nishulk Dawa Vitran Yojna, Generic Drug Distribution Schemes.
Choudhary Lal Singh asked the authorities of C-DAC to complete all the formalities as early as possible so that this system is adopted in the State for overall benefit of the people.
The Minister underlined the importance of keeping all Government Health and Medical Hospitals fully equipped with necessary medicines and latest equipments and emphasized the need of making the Jammu and Kashmir Medical Supplies Corporation Limited (JKMSCL) fully functional to render its responsibilities for the public good.
The Minister said that till the time Corporation takes over the procurement task fully, the concerned Medical and Health Department should ensure availability and supply of medicines and equipments.
Earlier, Joint Director C-DAC gave a power point presentation about the advantages of this web application. He said Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Punjab, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh have already adopted this system.
Director Health Services Dr. Baljeet Singh Pathania, Director Family Welfare Dr. Baldev Raj Sharma, Managing Director JKMSCL Dr. Yash Pal Sharma, Director Health Services, Kashmir Dr. Sameer Mattoo, General Manager JKMSCL Rajinder K Khajuria, Principal Dentral College Dr. Romesh Singh and representatives of Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) besides other senior officers of Health, Medical Education Departments and JKMSCL attended the meeting.
