| Chief Secretary discusses IIT operationalization | |  Jammu, November 27 (Scoop News)-Chief Secretary, B R Sharma Friday discussed the issues related to handing over of land identified at Jagti (Nagrota) for establishment of the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Jammu.
Chairing a meeting with Administrative Secretaries and senior officers here, Chief Secretary also discussed issues related to development of infrastructure for a temporary campus at the site so that maiden academic session is commenced next year.
“The Campus Operationalization Committee of Union HRD Ministry shall be visiting Jammu shortly and they shall be talking with various state departments to finalize the arrangements for the purpose” Commissioner Secretary, Higher Education informed the meeting.
Chief Secretary asked the concerned departments including Forest, PDD, PHE, PWD and Higher Education to finalize the requisite modalities at their end so that work on the prestigious Institute starts at the earliest.
Commissioner Secretary, PDD, Commissioner Secretary, Finance, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Commissioner Secretary, R&B, Deputy Commissioner, Jammu and other senior officers were also present.
