Karbalia Demanded Parity amongst the Twin District of Ladakh
Writes Letter to Narendra Modi

Kargil, February 05 (Scoop News)-MLA Kargil and Senior Congress Leader Haji Asgar Ali Karbalia has written letters to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Leader of Opposition in Rajiya Sabah Ghulam Nabi Azad and has taken the matter of non inclusion of Kargil District Under Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Uarban Transformation (AMRUT).
He asked that despite that Kargil District in Ladakh region having same topographic condition as of its sister district Leh, ha been ignored by the Government of India for consideration under AMRUT Scheme.
It was also informed by the letter that Kargil having situated at the bank of River Suru on which the 44 MW Chutuk Hydel Project is functioning is also fulfilling the two main criteria of AMRUT.
Karbalia Asked the Prime Minster and leader of Opposition Ghulam Nabi Azad on what ground the Union Government is discriminating and avoiding the development of the people of Kargil despite that fact that People of Kargil were considered as Patriotic and nation loving people living on the front line the LOC, which Narendra Modi Himself endorsed in his tweet regarding Kargil on 12th of August 2014 at 12.58 Pm as he tweeted “the Patriotism of the people of Kargil inspires the people of India. I bow to this land and to the people”.

Haji Asgar Ali Karbalia also intimated that Leh District in Ladakh Region was already covered under JNRUM and sufficient funds of Rs 217 Crore for Leh District has been already sanctioned and Leh District was also covered under RAY which is now Under AMRUT by the Union Government and the question arises that why the Union Government is not keeping Kargil District under any such Scheme despite that fact that Kargil District needs more importance in areas like Drinking Water Supply, Sewerage and Drainage, roads, footpath, Solid Waste Management etc.

The letter further reads that the non inclusion of Kargil Town in any of the Town Beautification schemes launched by the Center Government has created a sense of discrimination among the people of Kargil and is raising demand for parity with Leh Town by including it under AMRUT scheme.
He urged the leader to kindly interfere in the matter and urged the Prime Minster Narendra Modi to direct the Ministry of Urban Development Department Government of India to include Kargil Town under AMRUT so as to make realize your commitments made with the people of Kargil.
