| DC pays surprise visit to hospitals | | Releases additional grant of Rs 171 lakhs for up-gradation of healthcare facilities |  Srinagar,February 05 (Scoop News)-Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Dr. Farooq Ahmad Lone Friday paid surprise visit to associated hospitals of Government Medical College and took stock of the healthcare facilities provided to patients.
Dr. Lone visited Nursing Home cum cancer Hospital Gupkar road and interacted with the patients there.
Deputy Commissioner directed for release of an additional grant of Rupees 27.50 lakhs for the Cancer hospital for purchase of ALS Ambulance, besides announced release of 144 lakhs from Special Assistance Development Project for purchase of ventilators and Anesthetic Work Stations for associated hospitals of GMC Srinagar.
Deputy Commissioner directed the officers of health department to ensure optimal utilization of funds so that required equipment are provided in these institutions at an earliest for better patient care.
Later Dr. Lone visited GB pant hospital and inspected OPD, X-ray section, Operation theatre and Pediatric ICU sections there. He also interacted with the patients and attendants of the hospital.
Principal GMC Srinagar and Medical Superintendent GB Pant Hospital accompanied the Deputy Commissioner during the visit.
