| NC Minority Cell launches Membership Drive | | NC answer to all challenges confronted to J&K, says Bakaya | 
Jammu, February 06 (Scoop News)-Launching the Membership Drive among displaced Kashmiri Pandits in the Jammu region, Political Advisor to National Conference President and former MLC Vijay Bakaya on Saturday called for strengthening the party at grass-roots level to meet the challenges confronted to Jammu and Kashmir with renewed vigour.
“National Conference has all along espoused cause of all segments of society irrespective of caste, creed, region or religion”, Mr Bakaya said while addressing office bearers of the NC Minority Cell at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhavan here this morning, adding that a strong National Conference is answer to political uncertainty currently prevailing in the state.
Mr Bakaya dwelt on the historic role played by National Conference in promoting the spirit of brotherhood and maintaining glorious ethos of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh, saying, “We have overcome all our challenges by maintaining unity and this spirit is to be maintained for steering the people to peace, progress and development”.
Speaking on the occasion, the President of the Minority Cell Mr M K Yogi exuded confidence that displaced people will play a constructive role in meeting challenges to the state. He cautioned against exploitative forces and hoped that the people in general and displaced people in particular will foil all attempts of dividing the society on religious and regional lines.
Mr Yogi urged the office bearers to fan out in different areas and ensure membership in stipulated time frame.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included State Vice President and former minister Syed Mushtaq Ahmed Shah Bukhari, State Vice President Mr Rattan Lal Gupta, former minister Abdul Gani Malik, former legislator Bushan Lal Bhat and Provincial Vice President Anil Dhar.
Bushan Lal Bhat, who is also the Chairman of the Minority Cell exhorted workers to ensure the membership, saying National Conference is a force to reckon with.
Mr Bhat said that the state is passing through a difficult phase and need of the time is to strengthen the hands of Dr Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah to steer it to peace, progress and development.
