PDP indulging in political gimmickry: NC

Srinagar, February 06 (Scoop News)-Stating the PDPs current political posturing is nothing but ‘political gimmickry’ National Conference Saturday lambasted PDP and its leadership for putting J&K and its people in a state of confusion.

NC General Secretary Ali Mohammad Sagar while presiding over a meeting with Additional General Secretary Dr Mustafa Kamal, Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani, Zone Presidents including MLA Mohammad Akbar Lone (North), MLC Ali Mohammad Dar (Central), District Presidents Kashmir Province, MLA HomShalibugh Ab Majeed Bhat, MLC Showkat Ganai, MLC Qaiser Jamsheed Lone and Spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar at party headquarters said, “It is upto Mehbooba Mufti to either accept her father’s legacy by siding with the right wing BJP or reject it by walking out of the alliance. She is doing neither.”

“PDP came into being after central government pooled in money and made Mufti Sahab come up with a party. After becoming the CM in 2015, it was Mufti Sahab who went ahead and called PM Narendra Modi as the best PM India ever had. Now Mehbooba Mufti wants us to believe that PDPs alliance with BJP was a mistake when it was her who garlanded Amit shah and other BJP leaders when PDP-BJP government came into being 10 months back,” Sagar said adding, “I fail to understand why she never talked about this when we offered them unconditional support a year back.”

While recalling the contribution of former General Secretary Sheikh Nazir Ahmad whose death anniversary is to be observed on 24th Feb Sagar impressed upon the party functionaries to carry forward his mission.

Calling Mufti Sayeed a ‘dream merchant’ Dr Mustafa Kamal said, “At every public gathering Mufti would sing songs about how tourism sector will flourish under him but not a step was taken. It was Shere Kashmir who besides making innumerable tourist spots throught the state made sure that new places in Jammu like Patnitop, Bagh-e-bahu, Mansar Lake are brought under the tourist map,” adding, “PDP-BJP government’s biggest achievement in these ten months is inauguration of projects carried out by the previous Omar government.”

Other senior party members also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the various aspects of National Conference work at grass root levels.
