| In a glittering investiture ceremony, Gen Hooda presents awards to 15 civilians for rendering outstanding assistance to army | | confers 19 Sena Medals (Gallantry) |  Udhampur, February 12, (Scoop News)-On the occasion of the Investiture Ceremony, gallantry and distinguished service awards were presented on Friday by Lt Gen DS Hooda, GOC-in-C (Army Commander), Northern Command, to thirty eight officers and other ranks at Udhampur.
In a glittering ceremony, the Army Commander presented nineteen Sena Medal (Gallantry) including three Sena Medal (Posthumous), ten Sena Medal (Distinguished Service) and nine Vishisht Seva Medals. The General officer also presented GOC-in-C Unit Appreciation to twenty nine Units for their outstanding performance in the year 2015.
A total of fifteen civilians were also felicitated for their outstanding assistance rendered to the Army. The Investiture Ceremony was attended by senior civil, military and para-military dignitaries.
Speaking on the occasion, the Army Commander commended all ranks of the Northern Command for their dedication and devotion to duty in the highest traditions of the Indian Army.
He congratulated those who were decorated to bravery and distinguished service. Gen Hooda also urged all ranks, ex-servicemen, civilians and their families to rededicate themselves to the cause of the Nation. The General Officer appreciated the civilians for displaying a close bonhomie with the Army.
The Northern Army Commander Lt Gen DS Hooda felicitated fifteen civilians during the Northern Command Investiture Ceremony at Udhampur on Friday (February 12). The civilians were honoured for their contribution towards assisting the Army in Jammu and Kashmir.
Among the awardees was Mr Ajay Sharma, Deputy Superintendent of Police for his outstanding contribution in conduct of joint operations with the Army. The Army Commander commended the efforts of civilian awardees for their dedicated devotion to duty and for displaying a close bonhomie with Army. The list of awardees is as under:-
