Mirwaiz counsels Islamic countries to find solution to issues confronting Muslims
denounces action against student leaders of JNU


New Delhi, February 12, (Scoop News)-Appealing the prominent Islamic countries Iran, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkey - to put in joint efforts for reaching at a solution to issues confronting Muslims at the international level, All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) leader, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Friday said the problems faced by the Muslims were getting compounded as people following Islam were being killed on one pretext or the other which has become a concern for every Muslim.

In a meeting with the Ambassador of Islamic Republic of Iran to India, Ghulam Raza Ansari, at the Iranian Embassy in New Delhi for one-and-a-half-hours, Mirwaiz who was accompanied by another Hurriyat leader, Masroor Abbas Ansari, discussed in detail various issues related to the Islamic world.

Felicitating the Iranian ambassador on his and on behalf of the people of Kashmir on the anniversary of the Islamic revolution in Iran, APHC leader said the political situation in various parts of the world was an extreme cause of concern and only anti-Islam forces were benefitting from this situation.

Stressing that Iran, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkey, being prominent countries of the Islamic world, need to foster mutual and friendly relationship and work for the overall prosperity and stability of the Muslim world which could help resolve issues facing the Muslims and provide a leadership to the entire community.

Recalling the age-old traditional relation of Kashmir with Iran which encompasses societal traditions, religion, language, culture and commerce, chief cleric of Jamia Masjid said Kashmir has had centuries-old relations with Iran.

Meanwhile, separatist Kashmiri leader denounced the arrest of JNU Student's Union President Kanhaiya Kumar for organizing symposium on the 3rd anniversary of Afzal Guru and said the police action on the students was undemocratic and reflection of negative policies of the people who claim to be saviors of the freedom of speech.



Terming the police reaction as uncalled for, he said the organizers were in no way involved in any illegal activity.
