Sheep Husbandry deptt completes administering anti-fluke vaccine
Srinagar,February 13 (Scoop News)-Sheep Husbandry officer Budgam today informed that the department has almost completed administering anti-fluke vaccine after receiving complaints of sheep deaths in the Chill village of the district.
He informed that a team of para-vets under the supervision of Veterinary Assistant Surgeon Khansahib was immediately rushed to the area for on-spot verification of the cases after some deaths of sheep at village Chill and its adjoining area were reported through Sarpanch of the village .On post-mortem of the available carcass it was noticed that the animals died due to heavy infestation of liver flukes. Accordingly, all the sheep breeders of the area were advised to undertake dosing of their livestock against Fascioliasis .
He said the situation is being monitored and is under control and no further deaths have been reported so far from the area.
In another incident the department has provided first-aid to the wild-attack injured animals of village Manchhama in block Beerwah of the district.
