Video-surveillance for fair conduct of SSB exams: Div Com
Directs officers to put in place adequate arrangements

Srinagar, February 13 (Scoop News)- Divisional Commissioner (Kashmir) Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon on Saturday said that scheduled Service Selection Board (SSB) examinations would be held under complete video-cum-security surveillance to ensure the process is carried out in a fair and transparent manner.
The Divisional Commissioner said this while chairing a high level meeting of officers including Deputy Commissioners of all the districts to review the preparations for the examination .He directed the concerned to adhere to the instructions for the strict implementation and compliance of the order issued in this regard.
“The SSB, in coordination with the district administration, will make arrangements for installation of video cameras in the examination centres during the examination hours,” Div Com said ,adding that in case the same is not possible at any place, video shooting at regular intervals during the examination hours shall be done .He also asked the general public to register complaint if any in this regard by dialing 100 .
“Arrangements of proper security at each examination venue through deployment of a required number of security personnel should be prioritized. Adequate number of female constables should also be deployed at each examination venue. Imposition of prohibitory orders under Section-144 Cr.Pc. around the examination centres,” Dr Samoon stressed.
The Deputy Commissioners have been directed to issue necessary orders/notifications for smooth conduct of the examination. Meanwhile the Additional Deputy Commissioner of the District would be appointed as the Chief Inspector of the respective district. They shall visit all the examination centres if the examinations are conducted at the district headquarters only. It was also informed that in case the examinations are conducted at Tehsil headquarters also, the SDM of the area and tehsildar concerned shall be appointed as the Chief Inspector in respect of such centres.
